Phil Neville is reportedly among four Evertonians that will form part of David Moyes’ backroom staff at Manchester United.Rene Meulensteen, who was Sir Alex Ferguson’s first-team coach at Old
Trafford, will leave the club after turning down a role as head of
United’s youth set-up.
And the Guardian claims Moyes wants Neville to return to the club where he made almost 400 appearances under Ferguson and replace the Dutchman.The 36-year-old Neville ended his playing career with the Toffees this season but had been mooted as a possible replacement for Moyes at Goodison Park. Fergie’s No.2 Mike Phelan, goalkeeping coach Eric Steele and chief scout Martin Ferguson – Sir Alex’s brother – have also left Untied.Moyes will again raid his former employers, with Steve Round, Chris Woods and Robbie Cooke all coming in as the departing trio’s respective replacements.
