TORRES' CHELSEA RECORD RATED AVERAGE BY MOURINHO.

FERNANDO TORRES DETERMINED TO FIGHT FOR PLACE UNDER JOSE MOURINHO.

Fernando Torres: Has struggled to hit top form during his time at Chelsea
Jose Mourinho has cast fresh doubt over the future of Fernando Torres by admitting that more could have been expected of him so far at Chelsea. The Spanish striker earned a £50million switch from Liverpool in January 2011 but at Stamford Bridge he has struggled to replicate the form from his earlier career.Torres has been linked with a move away from the club this summer but has made it clear that he remains committed to seeing out his contract and wants to impress Mourinho. But the Portuguese boss says his record at Chelsea is only mediocre and is convinced that owner Roman Abramovich will let him rule on whether the player stays.
"Torres so far is so-so. Somebody could expect more because of his potential, because of what he did before. But not so bad as people sometimes try to say."Mourinho stated.
Although Fernando Torres insists he wants to stay at Chelsea and revive his career under new manager Jose Mourinho. The Spain striker has struggled to justify his £50m price tag since arriving from Liverpool in 2011 and has been linked with a move to Barcelona.Weekend reports suggested Mourinho, who is keen to reshape the Blues' forward line, could cash in on the forward for as little as £18m but Torres, with three years left of his deal to run, is determined to impress the returning boss."There is no better place and better conditions than with Mourinho at Chelsea."
Torres has just enjoyed his most productive season yet in Chelsea colors but only eight of his 22 goals were scored in the Premier League.
